I had my car serviced at the dealer this morning, and I told them that one of my tires was low. They informed me that my tire was unpatchable and I needed a new tire. I asked them how much and they said $230 and I said no thank you. I called Trucker Tire and explained what was going on and they said bring it in and we will check it out for you. I've been going to Trucker Tires for the last ten years and they're honest and amazing. They basically told me that the nail had not penetrated the tire wall and I was good to go.
Best tire shop in LA; and I've been to many of them. Pricing was super fair, they tried any and all options before letting me know the last option was new tires, and the over all service was top notch. It still has a "mom and pop" feel to it; from the ticket system they have to classic rock jumping in the tire shop. Great experience, highly recommend it.
I've been coming here for years to have tires installed on my cars, trucks, and Motorhomes. And it's always been a good experience with customer service as well as the competitive prices. (See prior review)
However, today was a different story. I brought my truck in due to what I believed was a suspension problem. The truck would shudder or shake violently. I've never had any front end work done here but I've noticed the alignment pits on my prior visits. So I limped my truck over there on Monday (3-12-18) to get it checked. I was told I would have to have an appointment. So, I made an appointment for Thursday 3-14-18 at 4 pm. On Thursday I was told the problem with the truck was my front end suspension needed work (bushings and arms) and I was quoted $501 dollars. I was told that I would have to bring the truck back in the morning so the work could be done. I dropped the truck off at 7:30 on Friday. I was called at approx 10:30 and advised that my truck was ready to be picked up. When I returned to pick up the truck, I was told it was taken for a test drive and it's stills vibrates and shakes, And the reason is because my center drive bearing needs to be replaced, and "we don't do that here".
My concern is, shouldn't I have been told what the problem was when I brought it in on Thursday for an estimate ? Or maybe a phone call while it was there?
I was assured that I had worn front end parts, that needed to be replaced. However, I brought it in for the vibration. I explained to the tech what the problem was, and that wasn't addressed.
Now I have to take it to another shop to address the problem that I brought it to Tucker for. And I'm $500 poorer. ? Not the level of service and professionalism I had expected from Tucker Tire.
I normally prefer to buy tires from Sam's Club or Costco, but neither of those places had tires I liked for the vehicle I have. I tried multiple other tire shops (See my negative review of America's Tires). Tucker's was reccomended to me by one of my mechanics. They were friendly and helpful. The price seemed reasonable. I was expecting to come back for installation another day, but they did it on the spot. My only negative comment is that we discussed a 2 or 4 wheel allignment and after, the guy put my vehicle on the lift, said the wheels for this vehicle cannot be alligned. The technician still made some adjustments, which I don't understand, yet paid for. Anyhow, overall it was a good experience and I reccomend them.
These people do tires. Friendly, fast service and affordable prices leave me no other choice but to return the next time shtf. The waiting room was comfortable and inviting with a TV, plenty of reading material and a tin of crayons with coloring books, too! I had 4 tires replaced and was out of there in roughly 30 minutes.
Wow! After all the customers I have sent to them over the years when I worked in automotive and all my personal cars these guys continue to get it right. Years ago the owner found out where I lived and he came to my house and mounted the wheels and tires on my car in front of my house! What? Legit! I just ordered two wheels for another vehicle and it could not have been any smoother. Jerry the salesman did great! Homerun!
I find the front office, of all tire stores I've done business with, very cordial and respectful. They direct you to the garage, where all the customers go for service. There is another counter in that work area where you pay your bills based on the kind of work done. The staff there are very kind & warm. Very fast service. The kind of business that is client based and what made this place a great country. Will do business again in the future.
